MDA organizes Symposium with support of Hong Kong Society of Breast Surgeons on Non-radioactive Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy

With close collaboration from the Hong Kong Society of Breast Surgeons, MDA organized a symposium on the increasingly topical subject of non-radioactive Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy. With global interest to find alternatives to use of radioactive isotopes the symposium focused on the clinical experience of leading international and Hong Kong based users of a revolutionary Super paramagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle detection system developed by Endomagnetics Ltd, a UK (Cambridge) based company.

Held at the Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel, Dr. Frederic Warnberg, Associate Professor and Consultant from Uppsala Academic Hospital, Sweden presented the results of his research and clinical experience as well as including a review of research and clinical results in Europe. Dr Wong Ting Ting, a private practice surgeon, and Dr. Yolanda Chan of the Kwong Wah Hospital presented their initial experience of non-radioactive Sentinel Lymph node detection and biopsy to a large and focused group of Surgeons and Nurses, numbering over 100, who attended the event.

MDA were honoured to organize and host this event on behalf of the Breast Surgeons and Nurses of Hong Kong and are committed to bringing the latest advances in surgical technology and techniques to the dynamic Hong Kong market place…to the benefit of the Hong Kong community.
